Join Cheri Perry and Turner Wilson for an immersive day in traditional Greenlandic kayaking techniques. The class begins with a sculling, bracing and rolling demonstration that will demystify these fundamentals. Sculling for support, balance brace, standard Greenland roll and multiple variations will be explored. For advanced students, norsaq and hand rolls, forward finishing rolls, combat rolls. A comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of the Greenland stroke will also be offered. Forward and forward canted stroke, sliding stroke, both high and low brace recoveries, sweep, draw and rudder strokes, and various stroke combinations.
Semi-Private Focused Sessions
Cheri and Turner will also be available for semi-private sessions on Tuesday June 3rd and Monday June 9th. If you haven't nailed your roll or used a skinny stick in waves and surf, this is your opportunity for a targeted, personalized session on either end of the Symposium. For more detail and to register for these sessions, please visit the Kayak Ways website. Cheri is generally amenable to a bit of yoga before and after kayak sessions. See her if you're interested!
